Therapy for stress & burnout in Horsham and online across the UK.
You are still meeting the deadlines. You are still showing up. But the margin between coping and not coping is thinner than it's ever been, and you can feel it narrowing.
Burnout is not a failure of effort.
It is the predictable result of sustained high demand without adequate recovery. It affects people who care deeply about their work, who hold significant responsibility, and who have been running on a deficit for longer than they'll admit.
It often presents not as collapse but as a peculiar kind of flatness — competence without engagement, performance without energy, showing up without being present. The work gets done. The person doing it is quietly depleting.
What we work with.
We work with work-related stress, professional burnout, decision fatigue, emotional exhaustion, and the patterns of overcommitment and avoidance that sustain them. We also work with the identity questions that often surface when high-functioning people begin to slow down: who am I outside of what I produce?
How we approach stress and burnout.
Our primary approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy — ACT — a NICE-recognised therapy that addresses two of the central features of burnout: the avoidance of difficult internal states, and the loss of contact with what actually matters to you. ACT doesn't prescribe rest or reduced ambition. It reconnects you with the values underneath the work — so the choices you make are driven by what matters, not by fear of what happens if you stop.
We use the PHQ-9 and GAD-7 at baseline and throughout to track clinical change. The work is structured.
Why Eunoia.
Albie Mew-Davies is a BACP-registered therapist (MBACP 415049) specialising in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He practises clinically at the Priory Group in inpatient mental health and guest-lectures on ACT at Canterbury Christ Church University. He is not a platform. He is not a matching algorithm. When you book with Eunoia, you work with Albie specifically — the same person from the first session to the last.
What to expect.
Start with a free fifteen-minute call. Albie will want to understand the shape of what you're carrying — the demands, the duration, and what it's costing you. From there, the 60-minute initial assessment establishes a proper clinical baseline and a direction of work. Many clients dealing with burnout begin with the Six-Week Reset programme.
If you need somewhere to talk about this properly, book a free 15-minute call.
