When your brain won't switch off, "just relax" isn't advice.

You are tired in a way that rest doesn't touch. Maybe you fall asleep fine and wake at 3am with your mind already running. Maybe bedtime itself has become the hard part — the lying there, the watching the clock, the dread of another night doing this. You have probably already tried the obvious things. They have probably already stopped working, or never really did.

This isn't about sleep hygiene tips you've read a dozen times. It's about understanding why your particular pattern of sleeplessness has taken hold, and working with someone who will stay with you while it changes.

What we work with

Insomnia shows up differently for different people — difficulty falling asleep, waking through the night, or surfacing too early and never quite drifting back off. Underneath it there is usually a second pattern worth naming: a mind that won't switch off at bedtime, a low hum of anxiety about sleep itself, and the things people quietly start doing to cope — late nights to avoid the dread of trying, a drink to switch the brain off, lying awake running through tomorrow. Each of these makes sense on its own. Together, they are usually what keeps the cycle going.

We work with all of it — not just the hours you're awake, but the anxiety and the workarounds that have built up around them.

The Sleep Restoration Pathway

For sleep difficulties specifically, we offer a focused three-session programme built for this problem, not adapted from a general one. It combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with sleep behavioural techniques that have a solid evidence base behind them.

Across the three sessions, we build a clear picture of your specific sleep pattern, work through the behaviours that are keeping it in place, and — the part most sleep advice skips — help you find a steadier relationship with being awake at night, so the anxiety about not sleeping stops doing as much damage as the sleeplessness itself.

Three sessions. One person. A defined end point, not an open-ended commitment.

Why Eunoia

You work with Albie Mew-Davies, a BACP-registered therapist (MBACP 415049) who specialises in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He practises clinically at the Priory Group in inpatient mental health and guest-lectures on ACT at Canterbury Christ Church University.

He is not a platform matching you to whoever's free. There is no algorithm and no rotating roster. When you book with Eunoia, you work with the same person from your first session to your last — which matters more with sleep than almost anything else, because so much of what helps is someone who remembers your specific pattern and builds on it, rather than starting from zero each time.

What to expect

It starts with a free fifteen-minute call — no preparation needed, nothing to commit to yet. Albie will want to understand your sleep difficulty in your own words: how long it's been going on, what it actually looks like night to night, and what else might be feeding it.

From there, a 60-minute initial assessment builds the fuller clinical picture and establishes whether the Sleep Restoration Pathway or standard therapy sessions are the better fit for what's going on. No GP referral needed. Available online across the UK, or in person at our venues in Horsham o
