Online therapy with a therapist who knows your name
Private, BACP-registered psychological therapy by secure video, anywhere in the UK. One named therapist for the whole course of your work. The first step is a free 15-minute chat.
It is late, the house is quiet, and you are searching for a therapist again. You have meant to do something about this for months. Something always gets in the way: the diary, the distance, the thought of sitting in a waiting room in a town where you know people.
Online therapy removes most of those reasons. Eunoia Health is a private psychological therapy practice. We work with adults who are managing on the outside and carrying more on the inside, and we see most of them online, from the first conversation to the last session, wherever in the UK they happen to be.
There is no questionnaire and nothing to prepare. You book a free 15-minute chat, we talk about what is going on, and we tell you honestly whether we are the right fit. If we are not, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
What online therapy with us looks like
A weekly 50-minute conversation, by live video, with one named BACP-registered therapist who stays with you for the whole course. You choose us, you can see their face, their qualifications and their registration before you book, and if you start with us, you finish with us.
We think the relationship with your therapist is part of what makes therapy work, which is why you keep the same person from the first session to the last. That is a deliberate choice, and it is what a private practice brings to working online: the depth and continuity of a consulting room, reached from wherever you are.
Who we work with online
Most of the people we see online are doing well by every visible measure. A degree, a first job, a team to run. Underneath it, the anxiety has been there long enough to feel like a personality trait rather than a problem: the overthinking, the rehearsing of conversations, the difficulty switching off, the sense that one slip would undo everything.
We work with anxiety in all its forms, including social anxiety and the high-functioning kind nobody else can see. We also work with OCD and intrusive thoughts, health anxiety, depression and low mood, burnout and work stress, grief and bereavement and sleep difficulties. We offer therapy for adults with ADHD and autism; our work there is therapy, and if what you need is a diagnosis or an assessment we will point you to a specialist service.
If you are a student, or in training as a therapist and need personal therapy hours, we offer a reduced rate on online sessions with proof of enrolment. Ask about it in the free chat.
If what you are dealing with is not on that list, it does not mean we cannot help. You can see everything we work with, or simply tell us when we talk.
How we work: therapy that is designed to end
Our approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, usually shortened to ACT. ACT does not try to silence difficult thoughts and feelings, which rarely works for long. It changes your relationship with them, so that they take up less room and you can act on what matters to you rather than on what you are trying to avoid.
We believe therapy should aim to end. That means short, purposeful episodes of work rather than an open-ended arrangement. We measure where you start, using GAD-7, PHQ-9 and AAQ, and we review progress with you as we go, so you can see the change rather than take our word for it.
Sessions are 50 minutes, and the first full session is a 60-minute assessment. You work with the same therapist throughout.
Does online therapy work as well as being in the room?
In our experience, yes, for the great majority of people and the great majority of difficulties we work with. The things that make therapy work, a therapist you trust, a clear focus, and the work you do between sessions, travel perfectly well down a video link.
Some people find it easier to talk from their own space. There is no journey home afterwards with the conversation still in your chest, and nobody in a waiting room to walk past. Others like the sense of occasion that comes with going somewhere, and for them we offer in-person sessions in Horsham and Wimbledon. You can start online and move to in person, or the other way round, with the same therapist.
Occasionally in person is the better setting for someone, and we will say so in the free chat if we think that is true for you.
What you need
A private space where you will not be overheard for 50 minutes. A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera. A reasonable internet connection. We send you a Google Meet link before each session, so there is nothing to install and nothing to set up.
People join us from kitchen tables, parked cars, spare rooms and, now and then, a hotel room on a work trip. Where you are matters less than being able to talk freely.
Wherever you are in the UK, and beyond
Because we work online, where you live is not a constraint. We see people in cities with a therapist on every corner, and people in parts of the country where the nearest private practice is an hour away and the NHS waiting list is longer than they want to wait.
If you are British and living abroad, we can usually work with you too. Mention where you are in the free chat and we will confirm.
What happens next
You book a free 15-minute chat with us. It is a conversation, not an assessment. We will ask what has brought you here and tell you honestly whether we think we can help.
If we are the right fit, the next step is a 60-minute initial assessment by video with your therapist. You talk through what has been happening, we take a baseline using GAD-7, PHQ-9 and AAQ, and together we agree where the work should focus.
After that, sessions are usually weekly, at a regular time. You stay with the same therapist throughout, and we review progress with you so that the work stays pointed at what matters.
Frequently asked questions
Is online therapy confidential?
Yes. Sessions take place over a secure Google Meet link, and the same professional and ethical standards apply as they would in the room. Sessions are never recorded. The main thing you can do on your side is choose a space where you will not be overheard.
Do I need to be in the UK?
You can be anywhere. Most of our online clients are in the UK, and we can usually work with British clients living abroad too. Tell us where you are in the free chat so we can confirm before you book an assessment.
Do I need a GP referral?
You can book directly with us, with no referral needed. If you are hoping to use private health insurance, some insurers do ask for a GP referral first, so it is worth checking your policy.
Can I use private health insurance for online sessions?
Yes. Our fees can be covered by Vitality, WPA, Healix Health, Healthcode, General & Medical Insurance and Allianz Partners. Check your policy for any excess or referral requirement, and mention your insurer in the free chat so we can get the paperwork right from the start.
Is there a reduced rate for students?
Yes, on online sessions, with proof of enrolment or a valid student card. We explain fees in the free chat so there are no surprises.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on you and what you bring. Because our work is designed to end, we are not interested in keeping you longer than you need. We agree a focus at the assessment, review progress with you as we go, and finish when the work is done rather than when a set number of sessions runs out.
What if my internet drops mid-session?
It happens. We will wait, try to reconnect, and if the connection will not hold we will agree with you how to make up the time. The session is yours, and we will make sure you get it.
What if I am in crisis?
We are not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E. If you need to talk to someone urgently, Samaritans are available on 116 123, free, at any time of day or night. If you are not in crisis but things feel urgent, book the free chat and we will help you work out the next step.
Ready to talk?
Fifteen minutes. One honest conversation. No preparation needed, and if we are not the right fit for you, we will tell you and point you somewhere better.
