Some things don't stay in the past, however much you'd like them to.

A childhood you've mostly made peace with. A loss everyone else seems to have moved on from. A death that came without warning, or in a way that leaves questions no one can answer. Or something you did, saw or couldn't prevent that sits uneasily with who you believe yourself to be.

Grief and trauma don't keep to a timetable. There's no point at which you should be over it.

At your pace

We work carefully. You won't be asked to go into anything before you're ready, and you set the pace. Our approach draws on trauma-focused ACT. It starts by building steadiness in the present before turning to what happened, so difficult memories become something you can carry rather than something that carries you.

Grief is not something to be fixed

Grief isn't a disorder. But you don't have to go through it alone. For many people, a consistent, unhurried space to talk about someone they've lost, including a much-loved animal, makes the rest of life a little easier to hold.

We aren't a crisis service. If you're having thoughts of ending your life, please call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24 hours) or contact NHS 111. If you're in immediate danger, call 999.

Start with a conversation

Fifteen minutes. One honest conversation. A free chat with one of our BACP-registered clinical therapists, to talk through what's going on and whether we're the right fit. You don't need to prepare anything, and there's no obligation afterwards

Areas we support

Choose the one that sounds closest. Most people's experience crosses more than one, and that's fine.
